07/07/2003 | K5DR Field day seems to be about a lot of things, preparedness, friendship, operating, public awareness, perfecting skills, and Field Day 2003 followed the same themes. We had a great time, operating, visiting, and eating. It was good to be able to operate with some of the best CW operators and contestors around in Pat W5WMU and Buddy N5AN. To watch these guys go at it on CW is truley amazing. Its a wonder that Pat does as well as he does in contests, and similarly its amazing at Buddy's skill in DX, seeing as there's nothing left for him to work and confirm. These guys show their guests great times each time we get together, and their stations are second to none. Hope to be able to participate in a great group again next year. -- KI5XP
