2003 ARRL Field Day

Hi ARRL,
We held our fieldday event, we being the VARA (Valley Amateur Radio Association), at the OEM building in Shelton, CT. We have built a station there with financial support from the city for emergency communications in the Naugatuck Valley. The club and NVARES decided to hold fieldday there this year to test our setup. The equipment worked fine but our location is not ideal as a result we did not make a whole lot of contacts but we know that in case of an emergency the equipment will work and serve it's purpose. We had fun trying as you can see from the attached pictures which were taken by Steve-WJ1T. The picture named: VARA1 shows the Naugatuck Valley DEC W1HO-Howard smilimg as if he enjoys getting very few replies to his calls. The picture named: VARA3 shows me,N1BDF, smiling too, even though the log shown in the background shows our meager results. And last but not least the picture named: VARA5 shows our mainstay and CW phenom Barbara-K1EIR, she is the sister of the CT-SM Betsey-K1EIC. Barbara accounted for half our score!
