07/22/2003 | K4YNZ The K4YNZ 5E AL Field Day effort was a combination of old and new technologies.
We used electronic logging,(GenLog),but backed it up with paper scratch pads and dupe sheets.
We ran three PSK 31 stations,and two Phone stations,using the latest SG2020ADSP,and ICOM 706 radios,but they were fed with older, tried and true wire antennas.
And,near our location, in rural Springville,about 30 miles NE of Birmingham, we ate supper, at a 40 year old BBQ diner,while watching the news off a Satellite feed, in the dining room.
