07/29/2003 | K2VN I got to our site (Nassau Amateur Radio Club) in Eisenhower Park Nassau County NY around 10:30 pm saturday night as we were operating 3A we had some spare operators aroud but no GOTA station so at about 1AM in the morning we set up one under my call. Murphy had his way of course. Firstly the antenna cable we used turned out to be defective then we had corona on the antenna but at the end two of us managed to ge5t about 85 contacts, not enough for the bonus but still grand fun anyhow. Next year the station will be set up when all the other stations are and any surplus operators we man it intermittantly throughout the contest
