The score this year was good. We did surpass last years score but it took a couple of extra bonus points to do so because Qs where down. We managed to make almost 1000 this year but with 10 being stinko, 80 being very noisy and 6 meters not making up its mind on what to do we did not make as many as last year. 15 meters was our best band as we racked up 351 phones Qs on it. I know everyone else said it was bad but not for us. Our claimed score with bonus points for 2003 is 3890.
We had more folks helping out this year than then last 2 years combined. almost 30 ppl helped setup, operate and take down the station this year. We also had lots of folks stopping by to see what was going on and in the process learned a little about ham radio.
We also had some much fine BBQ provided by the club and cooked by KD5PXB in his mobile pit. Glyn can cook some mean fajitas! What would a Texas field day be with out some great Texas BBQ.
To see more about the club or to download the FD Power Point presentation I put together or to see more FD pictures please visit www.N5CRP.org. (the PP and pics will be up by Aug 9th)
