07/16/2003 | N3NR Another very enjoyable IARU contest! Several station improvements, namely a new vertical and amplifier, helped increase my score this year. I took a more serious approach to this years' contest in general.

15 meters did disappoint me, but it seems I wasnt the only one. Did catch a few nice openings on 10 and had some great openings on 160, 80, and 40 meters.

I want to thank all of the European stations I worked on 40 for their comments on the signal this year. Thanks for the encouragement! Believe it or not its only an old Hy-Gain vertical with 26 radials underneath it (see picture).
