09/17/2003 | WD4OAR The Ocoee Amateur Radio Society (OARS) had a great time during the contest from the mountains of North Carolina EM75. We were active on 6m, 2m, 222, and 432. Unfortunately the weather got rough on Saturday night and the weather contined to be bad Sunday morning and we were forced to shut down, yet we still had a blast on our very first VHF contest effort. We had some computer logging problems and several computer hardware problems as well causing some frustration. We will know what to do better next year. Unfortunately there were no openings on 2m and only a few on 6m. The highlight for me was working EN60 W9ICE on 432 CW from EM75 with 20 watts.
