11/05/2003 | W4MY Thanks for the qrs to my 25 wpm for my first entry into a CW contest. Was lots of fun. Made 184 Q's and 62 sections. It took me 2-3 minutes of listening and writing before calling a cq-er. How do you guys get all that in one answer to your cq? My hat is off to you guys, I'll definately be back next year...

One more thing... I could almost copy the guys clipping along at 35+ and could get it after listening 2-3 times. Then I'd call, that worked. Harder were the guys that would send the repeditive stuff real fast and instantly slow down for the pre then real fast for their call, then slow down for the ck and sec. Don't do that. For me (a 20-25 wpm guy) its better to go at a steady pace, even if its a liitle fast. When you slam on the brakes my head lurches forward and hits the radio!
