11/12/2003 | KE2SX Well, this is the main event of the year for me, and of course I had to work 3 pm to 11 pm both days. Since I hadn't finished installing the HF rig in the car, I took my FT-817, Z-11 tuner, and a gell cell to work with me, and used the 20 meter Ham Stick on the car during lunch. Made only 15 contacts for the hour, but I had fun and was surprised how well 5 watts and a Ham Stick did.

So later that night and Sunday morning, I used the same rig (and battery) in the house with the G5RV. Glad I installed the CW filter - it made a big difference.

Thanks to all who had difficulty hearing me, but went the extra mile to pull out my signal.
