04/13/2004 | AK1W This is the first time a station in New England has finished in the SS CW High Power Top Ten in as long as I can recall. At least within the last 25 years!! This has been my main operating goal for the past few years. Very happy to finally make it.

My 27th consecutive year of SS CW with more than 1000 QSOs. I'll probably be back next year.

Used the AK1W club call in an effort to cut down on repeats. Too many people had trouble copying K5ZD in WMA. They kept getting it as WPA, WTX, WWA, or something else. Being a "real W1" didn't hurt either as the states up here are a bit more rare than in W5. :)

This is my favorite contest of all. It requires real operating skill to seek out every last QSO from the bands. -- K5ZD
