11/20/2003 | VY1MB Contesting is alive and well in the Yukon or I should say NT. for the SS contest. Bob VY1MB ran a multi-op station with the help of Dean VY1CQ, Martin VY1YT and technical support and repairs by Doug VY1BD. Despite the bands being very poor and 3 antenna repairs at 1130 pm Sat. evening in temperatures of minus 28C we kept a real contest going by trying to compete with Jay Allan VY1JA.
Fun was had by all and we'd like to thank Bob for his station and hospitality.
You can bet in next year's SS contest we will be back bigger and better. -- VY1BD
