2003 ARRL 10 Meter Contest
Started out great guns on Friday night, only to have the roof-mounted yagi get snarled a tree. Stuck it out with the dipole and didn't get back in the chair until mid-morning Saturday. After climbing the roof mid-day and freeing the yagi (trimming the tree... a scary experience), I didn't get back until late Saturday night.
Sunday morning, with 5" of rapidly melting snow on the ground, things got better. I heard some DX -- Europeans (F, G, DL, CT), South/Central Americans, the Caribean. I did hear one KH6, but he didn't hear me. And little above Connecticut (no NH, VT, most of VE).
In the end, this contest was, and always is lots of fun. Being a rare multiplier (District of Columbia) doesn't hurt, even for little-pistols (Omni-6+, OCF Dipole @50 ft, F12 C-3SS 10 ft above the roof) like me!
