I had a lot of fun, considering... my antenna was a 40M dipole, up 10 meters, I used a KWM2 (vintage '61) and an antenna tuner (MFJ 989B). 188 contacts. Got Japan, Italy, French Guiana, VK, ZL, too many to mention. Suprising, considering the operating conditions and problems, namely: power-line hash during the afternoons, radio problems (dirty relay contacts?), and no computer (paper log!). Ever try dupe checking a 10-page paper log between each contact? After every transmission, I would have to switch my mode switch to CW and back, to get the receiver to come up. Best was the great sporadic-E openings... those of you that went to bed early missed out! I understand that 6m was open FB during that time, too. Thanks to the many patient operators that helped make this a contest to remember. -- KI5YG
