01/03/2004 | N3IW This was the 25th anniversary of my first QSO. My novice license arrived in late December 1978 and I got on the air for the first time as KA3CEM during SKN 1979. My equipment now is a little different - a Ten-Tec Omni VI+ with a Nye-Viking Master Key as opposed to a cheap Ameco? key with a Johnson Viking Navigator xmtr/Hammerlund HQ-140X? rvcr, but the fun was still there. I only had enough time to work two stations, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Also, I kept KB3HJQ from reverting to paddles just before the end of SKN! I just couldn't let him do that with only 10 minutes left. He thanked me, but blames me for his numb fingers. -- N3IW
