Despite all the mindless chatter about the demise of Morse, this seemed to be the busiest SKN in recent memory. 40 meters was so crowded that it was a definite incentive to try other bands. There was the usual mix of vintage and modern equipment. J38 key variants were the most common, but almost anything else, including homebrew keys, could be heard. The demands of the holiday meant limited operating, but I did manage fifteen QSOs on QRP using an Argonaut V and a Hi-Mound Swedish Pump key. Hand-keyed Morse is Amateur Radio's oldest tradition and SKN is always a fine celebration of our shared heritage. -- WB8DQT
