2004 ARRL Straight Key Night

I operated SKN 2004 from 00:00Z thru 09:30Z using
a Johnson Valiant, Drake R4B and my original J-38
from my Novice days. SKN, as always, was very enjoyable
and there seemed to be an abundance of brass pounders
this year. I had 13 QSO's, most of which were ragchews
lasting at least 30 minutes. The only other station I
heard running vintage gear was my neighbor, WA1VQY.
May I suggest to others that next year when you go
looking for your straight key, drag out that old Ranger,
DX-100, or homebrew MOPA rig and put it on the air. -- WA1ABI
