01/04/2004 | K2AKW After being licensed for 51 years, this was my first SKN night. I only made one contact: 40 meters: KA2REY. I used my ICOM IC-706 at 5 watts, but increased it to 30 watts due to QRM. Have been studying CW to try to get my speed up after no CW activity for the past 40 years. KN2AKW was my 1952 Novice call, with K2AKW as a General a few months later. Looking forward to next year's SKN. Only one QSO, but PLEASE include me in the count of operators for this year. -- K2AKW
