01/04/2004 | KA9P Neat. Expectations ran high the week before as I fought to get my 51J1 (SN1, bottom left) and 310B3 (about 10 watts, top right) running before the end of the year. Barely made it and was it a blast.

Especially enjoyed the 10 meter QSOs with the West Coast QRP crowd. Had a great chat with K7HZ on his K2 (most interesting QSO), and AK7D, also QRP. Was really pleased when Hank, HP1IBF, called in with a few minutes left using an old aircraft straight key.

Used my original Radio Shack key from the 1968 WN9BCR novice days, as well as a J38. Next year the 4-125 final for the 310B should be finished, then look out!
