2004 ARRL Straight Key Night
I have two straight keys mounted side by side on the same wooden base here in my shack. Since 1971, I have been using them on a regular basis to tune and test my rig or to send slow CW when needed. They are plugged into the straight key jack (rear panel) of my IC756PROII, so they are always ready to go. I got both of them in a junk box given to me by an old timer when I was just getting started in ham radio. The two keys are both surplus: an J-48 Army Signal Corps Field Radio Key (originally used with the BC-654 receiver) and a Navy CMI-26003A flameproof key.
Looking forward to next year's SKN already.
