03/09/2004 | W8JWN I really enjoyed the contest despite computer problems causing the computer clock to lose about 30 minutes before I caught it and reset. I operated single band 40 meters as usual. I am getting too old to operate all day and night. HI! So, the daylight hours are for sleeping and keeping the XYL happy.

Conditions to Asia were poor. I had partial contacts with DU and HL but they couldn't get my full call through the west coast QRM. The Whiskey November gets through but the Juliet seems to be a real problem. I still won't get a vanity call! TA and LZ0 made up for the loss of the two Asian multipliers.

I worked 79 countries on 40 this year and this has been the best in all of the years I have operated. -- W8JWN
