K9ES/4
This was the first time in 15 years that rain and thunderstorms stayed away from our site. Other clubs in Indian River, Brevard County, and Orange county Florida were clobbered by severe thunderstorms, yet we were dry and could see the huge clouds in the distance. Our site was from the Longpoint Campgrounds, just north of the Indian River / Brevard county line, on a small island in the Indian River. The activity on 20 and 40, both CW and SSB was great. We also managed some 15 and 10M QSO's. Who said CW is a dying skill. Long live the contests to keep CW alive! Field day was my first contest over 45 years ago, and it is just as good now. -- K9ES
