2004 ARRL Field Day
Radio Central ARC operated again from the David Sarnoff Preserve, Riverhead, NY. This land was used by the Radio Corporation of America starting in 1920's as their receiver installation in conjunction with their transmitters located around 9 miles away in Rocky Point. This location has a nice open sided shelter that was used by the club for its station installation. They erected a surplus Army Signal Corp 48 foot mast arrangement to raise their Tri-band yagi. This land, more than 2,300 acres, is now a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation preserve and is named after the former president of RCA, David Sarnoff. Written request for use of this facility is required and a permit is issued authorizing its use.
