2004 ARRL Field Day

07/01/2004 | K8SCH Operating from Cincinnati, OH, the OH-KY-IN Amateur Radio Society operated 3A from Mitchell Memorial Forest. We had a 20/80 meter station, a 15/40 meter station (both SSB), a CW "Tent", and a 6-meter station. All 3 HF stations used pneumatic masts - hook them up to a small air compressor, and watch them go!
We had a very nice Public Information Table, complete with personalized buttons with our club logo, your name, and callsign. We also launched balloons with our personal QSL cards attached, along with information about amateur radio, the ARRL website, our club website, and information on how to become an amateur radio operator.
We had demonstrations of APRS, 432mhz ATV, and Hellschreiber.
NTS traffic was passed from Field Day to friends and family across the country, and also to our section manager, K8QOE.
We had a great contester join us this year, but he preferred sitting on tree-limbs instead of the chairs we provided.
Looking forward to next year! -- KA3MTT
