07/11/2004 | NA4K / K4BP Field Day 2004 broke new ground for the McMinn Co. Amateur Radio Club, Inc. We got to use our new Mobile Communications Trailer for the very first time and it functioned exactly as we had hoped. Also, we made a lot of new friends and renewed a lot of old aqaintances as we had over 70 visitors this year. One of our local volunteer fire department chiefs provided lunch of bar-be-cue chicken, baked potatoes, and baked beans, and a couple of our hams provided breakfast and lunch the next day. Some of our ladies are talking about setting up a club auxilary to do the "feeding" and fundraising! Many of our folks have said it was the best time they ever had.
