2004 ARRL Field Day

07/15/2004 | VE5MA The Moose Jaw Amateur Radio Club once again visited the Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum 8 miles south of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to enjoy the rigours of Field Day 2004. Two stations were set up, one on 40 mtr was the club system from the Western Development Museum [ our home base] and the other system for 20 mtr was from the QTH of VE5TRF.
The weather cooperated, well, except for a flash storm that dropped water, hail and electricity from the heavens for abt an hour. Undaunted, as soon as the clouds moved on, we were back on air. The site was visited by many tourists visiting the museum, they all stopped and chated, and were enlightned on the hobby of "ham" radio. Saturday nite we had a BBQ and social time, accompanied by music provided by Kelly VE5KJS. [thanks kelly] To sum things up, We cant wait till next year!
PS WE WISH TO THANK THE KIND FOLKS AT THE Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum FOR THE USE OF THE BUILDINGS.... -- VE5TRF
