2004 ARRL Field Day

07/15/2004 | N2JFS This year was different for the Halifax Emergency Communication Krewe. We decided to visit a nearby mountain top. A marvelous view together with a good radio site were the deciding factors. The fact that there were no driveable road was not considered a hindrance until "feta complee". It took us six hours to log up all the equipment we decided to use. Needless to say, it was a relatively tired krewe that finished the set-up at 6:30PM on Saturday. Another thing we learned was to never put a tent in the open on a mountain top. It is windy, very windy. A clear sky contributed to a record cool night, 40, which did not sit good in a tent during sleep-over. Now we know for the next year. -- N2JFS
