2002 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)

For those of us who live in the "Rare Multiplier" of the District of Columbia, the DX Contest is a perennial favorite.
Operating a contest during President's Day weekend, especially in this (Presidential) town -- a favorite time and destination for visitors -- was nearly impossible.
Operating was limited to a mere 2 hours, Not much time for anything to develop, although did I "walk the bands" for a few stations!
I'd agree that there were lots of JA's on the high bands and conditions were good. I heard a couple of other DC stations on the air, so I hope our "rare" multiplier was given out to the deserving! -- W3DQ
