2004 IARU HF World Championships
Although Ive never entered this contest seriously, its a favorite with its fun and informative multiplier system, and decision whether to go mixed mode or cw only. During WRTC years there's that additional twist too. Its always been rewarding trying to maximize QSOs with USAs IARU stations W1AW/ and NU1AW. This year with W1AW/0 only 240 miles away the main challenge was the higher bands. I got them on all six bands and 10M was the only difficult one. When W1AW was first leased out for Radiosport at K4VXs QTH I got to play relief op. at a few positions my first experience at a multi-multi.
One perk encouraging activity for the 1996 IARU/WRTC was the offer of WRTC 96 t-shirts to the 100 stations scoring the most band/mode QSOs with WRTC participants. I came in 98th in that battle
