2002 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)

02/23/2002 | WJ0TA Four newly licensed Hams / Boy Scouts visited K1MV-s QTH in North Yarmouth Maine Sunday February 10, 2001 to join the World Championship YCCC (Yankee Clipper Contest Club) and to learn about contesting. Over the past year, these Old Men have earned their Radio Merit badge and ham licenses along with most of their dads. They were sponsored into the YCCC by veteran members: Brian Arsenault-N1FIY, Dave Henderson-NR1DX, Eric Williams KV1J, and Dave Hoaglin-K1HT.

Also present for Sundays Contest Training session were elmers: Ray Sirois-N1RY, Steve Freeman-K1MV, Mike Russo-K1EU, and dads: Dana Baer-KB1FYP, Glenn Michaels-KB1HPR, and William Shively KB1GWV, and classmates Tim and Thom Watson KB1HOA and KB1HNZ.

"I can hardly wait to work all those countries!"; They will be operating as WJ0TA (/1) on March 2nd and 3rd concentrating on the upper HF bands during daylight hours. -- N1RY
