2004 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/13/2004 | K0AWU Great contest from EN37ed in northern Minnesota. Good participation from the stations north of Minneapolis sure helped the grid count. I operated on 50, 144, 222, 432, 1296 Mhz and 10Ghz. One third of my contacts were rovers and that is very unusual for me. Conditions seemed to be flat most of the time, but at times very good. A bit before 8am local Sunday W0LER was S-9 on 1296 SSB, at 136 miles, this was much above normal. There was no 6m Es at my location during the contest. Worked N0URW and K2DRH on 6,2,222,432 at over 400miles for
the best contest DX. Worked WHZ again on 10Ghz at 155miles on VERY light rain scatter.

The gang in EN44 were sure out in force! A huge number of contacts were from that area. Congrats to them for getting so many on the air
during a beautiful fall weekend. Thanks for all the contacts and activity.

This was my best September contest and my third best VHF contest. -- K0AWU
