11/22/2004 | KA6T Just got my TS-850S back from being repaired, and about an hour into the contest, I detected the aroma of frying electronics. Bud, N6YJW, who had fixed it for me, said the problem might not have been in the radio but in something it was hooked up to. Guess he was right... Shoulda checked the power supply first.

Connected the FT-847 to the antenna and used it for the rest of the weekend (with a different power supply -- even dumb folks can learn eventually).

Enjoyed the SS again, with the highlight being able to work both VY1MB and VY1JA. I'll be back next year, a year older but maybe a little smarter. -- KA6T
