11/22/2004 | WB4OMM Another SS gone!! This is my eleventh consecutive year, and another sweep! (I have been lucky enough to have had a sweep every year since 1994). But unlike other years, Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Jeanne (all related to Murphy) had other plans for my antennas, bending, twisting, and generally making aluminum do the impossible; hence, this year was the most challenging (frustrating!) ever with just over 300 contacts and the 80 sections. Seemed like it took forever to work some, although before I went to bed Sunday morning (at 3AM EDT) I had 200 contacts and 72 sections. Took me almost all day to get the remaining needed stations, especially NT and BC - and they called me! Still my favorite operating experience.
I'll have the antennas fixed for next year - I'll be back!
