05/08/2002 | W8DZ This contest was used as a tool to introduce several of our members to HF and contesting. We devoted time to teaching techniques and procedures, even to unlicensed youngsters who came by to see the activity. Our goal of geting members on in spite of jitters, and bringing them together in a fun activity was accomplished. The youngsters? Maybe a year or two from now they will have their own licenses. -- K8JE
