2005 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/13/2005 | NT5HS We had fun on 6m, going mobile/rover, activating a few unusual grids, and two new hams got some valuable experience. We had a very simple setup, 100 watts on 6m, with a 6m loop on the van. The band opened up nicely for a while on Saturday night, and we were able to give out EM03 and EM04 to some stations.

Pictured L->R are KE5CII, N0RQ, and KE5CIJ. The two girls made most of the contacts and did most of the logging. They had so much fun on Saturday, that they wanted to go back out on Sunday night. We migrated over to EM23, but there were no 6m openings, but we worked some of the locals.

All in all, a fun time! (Since the rules state "Rover" is one or two operators, our log was submitted as CHECKLOG, and our score won't count, but we didn't have a competitive score anyway.) -- N0RQ
