The ARRL Field Day event held atop Anderson Mountain in Catawba County, NC this past weekend was a truly successful endeavor all things considered. The weather held out for the event (barely, but we'll take it). Some new and relatively new hams were exposed to the HF bands and even an aspiring young Alona Swett, a 9 year old ham-to-be managed to make several contacts.
The stations' layout was well designed, the strategy was good and contingency (antenna) plans were utilized. This was a true remote station operation in the spirit of "Field Day" and most of all, there was teamwork, good fellowship and one couldn't help coming away with more experience and knowledge having participated. -- K4WAC
