06/30/2005 | W9MAP We had a great Field Day this year, and hope everyone else did too.

We had an excellent spot along Lake Carlyle at Eldon Hazlett State Park in Illinois, and despite the 100 degree temperatures -- a breeze off the lake "saved the day."

We especially enjoyed Field Day this year because my husband, N9OQT, could join us -- last year he was stationed in Baghdad where it was too hot to set up a Field Day station.

This year we made contact with 40 states, three Canadian providences, and Puerto Rico; we're happy with our successful day. We look forward to next year when we can add another rig to the station ... N9OQT's HF radio has not yet arrived back in the states - its on a Conex somewhere between Kuwait and Ft. McCoy ... Hopefully it will arrive by next Field Day ...
