06/26/2006 | VO1MRC The Marconi Radio Club of Newfoundland (VO1MRC 2A NL) conducted FD in
Whitbourne in memory of VO1BL and VO1FR. The WX dampened our spirits a bit
and most of our FD stalwarts were prevented from attending. VO1RL VO1XP and
yours truly battled torrential rain which left us stranded at the site. The
road from the cabin was flooded and kept us from visiting our colleagues
at the Baccalieu Klub (VO1BRK) in nearby Freshwater who invited us to their FD
operation. Despite this we had a lot of good fun and food. We look foreward
to doing again next year. Several other groups in the NL section also had
FD stations on the air.
