2006 ARRL Field Day

06/27/2006 | AB0GL This year the Tri-State Amateur Radio Club (KC0ROC) worked from the HQ. Located in Verdon Nebraska. It was a good exercise for emergency services by setting up at a new location and not using any permenent structure. Located right on Hwy 67 and working in a limited space it was a challange to setup, but we were able to meet that challange.
Once we were on the air it worked out great. We made a few contacts. We enjoyed visiting with others that came by to see what the club was doing.
We used a Ten-Tech Pegeuses for the HF Station. An Icom 706 MKIIG for a backup rig. We had a Swan HF Beam, G5RV, The Screwdriver, 6 Meter J Pole. The station was manned the full time. The potato salad from KC0SVJ got the most contacts.
Sunday there was a VE Exam and got a new ham and one going to try again. -- W0TAW
