06/28/2006 | N6VCW Trying to work Field Day from my mobile station in over one hundred degree heat was challenging. The bands were extremely crowded (a good thing). Even with substantial filtering and a good headset, some stations were just too commingled with each other to hear well.

In spite of the WX conditions and a cramped operating location inside a vehicle I had a lot of fun. Next year, I'll operate from a "normal" site with a better antenna and in much more comfort!

I wanted to try it mobile for once and now I can say that I have, for whatever it's worth. Umm, never again though. 20/20 hindsight can be a wonderful thing.
