06/30/2006 | AE6UP Field Day '06 was a blast! Matt (AE6UP) and Matt (KK6CB) put on a two band effort. The 18AH battery kept our station running easily for the 6 hours that we were on the air. KK6CB forgot the solar panel, but that turned out not to be a problem because the sun stayed hidden behind a stubborn layer of fog.

With our 50W we made 30 contacts on 20M and 40M. Everybody involved considered the day a great success. We gained practical experience with temporary antennas, operating with battery power, and dealing with unforeseen obstacles.
