07/05/2006 | W4SCA Scenic City Amateur Radio Society, in its third year of organization, participated in Field Day 2006 under the club call, W4SCA. For the second year, we operated 3a-QRP-100% solar powered. Our entire site was powered by a 2kw solar array with 8kw of storage batteries.
There was plenty of power for the 6m, 15m, 20m, and 40m stations as well as all of the lighting, fans, computers and accessories! Great weather, food, and friends; overall, another wonderful Field Day!

Our Field Day site is in the city of Signal Mountain, TN (just west of Chattanooga) and is surrounded by tall treesa perfect situation for our wire antennas.

Planning is already underway for Field Day 2007!
