2006 ARRL Field Day
We ended up with near 90 signatures in the visitor log, so I guess it was a success as far as local interest. Our hospitality area was busy.
We operated 7A which kept several operators busy for quite a while. Several of the operators really had a great time when the bands opened. I haven't seen so much excitement in several years. Of course food is high on our list of priorities when heading for FD, Burgers for lunch on Saturday, BBQ for dinner, dessert for midnight snacks, Dutch oven, Mountain Man eggs, bacon and potatoes for breakfast, and hotdogs for lunch on Sunday.
We were plagued with a duck. The little guy just wouldnt leave the area. He stayed all night and slept next to one of our operators.
We have a great bunch of hams in the GARS (Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society) group. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. Links to some of the photos are available on our web site. http://www.gars.org . 73 -- WA4ZXV
