07/17/2006 | W8EDU The Case Amateur Radio Club, W8EDU, club station of Case Western Reserve University, operated Field Day from its traditional site in Huntsburg, Ohio.

W8EDU has been on the air for Field Day every year, in one form or another, since 1985. With two decades of experience, the W8EDU Field Day has been refined into a smooth running operation. Nevertheless, we try to do something a little bit new and different each year.

Adding a new twist to this years operation, The Emergency Mobile Communications Club, W3USA, shared the site and set up an independent Field Day station. Having two 1A operations at the same site lead to friendly competition between the two stations! W3USA ultimately prevailed with the higher final score, but everyone had a grand time operating, watching and wondering which station would bring in the most QSOs.

The weather was absolutely perfect this year dry and clear, temperatures mild day and night. As usual, the operators at W8EDU, and W3USA, were treated to the outdoor cooking expertise of W8RZ.
