One new ham from the saturday test session was Laura Hopper, age 9.
Karen, KC0OCH, age 15 operated equine mobile (pony cart mobile) using an Icom-706 and small battery with a vertical antenna. Karen made all of the 10 meter contacts with this setup and was able to offer rides to visitors.
We were very fortunate to have a higher than usual youth participation this year!
South Dakota Division of Emergency Management brought their emergency communications trailer to field day this year, and it didnt take long before we had it equipped with ham gear and were making contacts. -- KD0S
