07/23/2006 | WA3COM Field Day 2006 for Washington Amateur Communications (WACOM) was just fantastic! Once again we set up at the Washington Sportsmen's Association in Washington, PA. This year we had a number of new hams experiencing Field Day for the first time, as well as Boy Scouts working on their merit badges, so the GOTA station was nicely active.
We had a PSK-31 station, a satellite station, and CW and phone stations. Of the 31 participants 19 were operators, and manned the stations throughout the night. The weather was comfortable and cooperative until thunderstorms threatened about noon on Sunday. With pleanty of delicious food, good propagation and great company, this was a most enjoyable Field Day. All are looking forward to 2007. -- N3ZEL
