08/07/2006 | KI6BEW This was our first ARRL UHF contest and we had a great time. We had a few minor technical problems at first but things went well for the most part. I made my first 1296 contacts and discovered just how sharp the antenna beam pattern is! The best thing about the contest was the helpful and friendly locals. The only thing that needed improvement, besides the flat bands, was just more hams on the air to work. We'll be back. -- KI6BEW
