08/22/2006 | WA2RQC K2RKW and I decided to try and work some stations from FN23SA on Sat. We knew the rain was coming but we went out to try. We worked W1AUV, W1AIM and W1GHZ on Equinox before the skys opened. We tried AF1T and I heard K1TEO but no other contacts then the rains came and the FT817 started to fill up with water and we came home. It was a fun time outside. Sunday I had the rig setup inside the house and heard a loud signal from the Greylock direction and it was W1AUV and after the carrier went off I called QRZ and he came back to me. We made another contact from another grid, more fun just by chance. It was an interesting time and hope to try again in dryer weather.
