I had not done this in a while and decided that the Sept QSO party would be a great chance to get back in the game. I built home brew 6 meter and 2 meter beams and found a great spot at around 4000 feet on Tray mountain GA (EM84)on the Appalachian trail . The weather was ideal for camping and I got a lot of stares and questions from hikers. I made a lot of contacts and managed about 12 grids on 6M and 10 on 2M even with lousy propagation. 6M did open up a bit Sunday morning and stations in WV and PA popped up for a bit. I cant wait for June now.
