Our group, the Michigan City (IN) Amateur Radio Club had the opportunity to install beams for 2 and 432, and a loop for six meters atop a 200 foot tall building for this year's contest. Despite the nice elevation, conditions were flat here in the midwest and participation wasn't what we hoped for. We worked everyone we could hear, but had higher expectations. Still it was fun operating with high antennas and they performed quite well, especially on 432 where the extra height seemed to really make a difference. In fact, this is the first VHF contest I've been involved with where there were as many contacts made on 432 as there were on 2 meters. Can't wait to try these antennas in future contests. We'll be adding a beam for six meters in the near future. -- K9RQ
