09/12/2006 | N0JK I had planned to operate from EM18 s/o QRP portable, but thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday over eastern Kansas prevented that. Seem to have more inclement weather in September than June! With the thunderstorms getting worse Sunday afternoon, decided to operate from home. I use indoor antennas as live in a C C & R "no outside antenna" sub-division. To my surprise there was a nice 6 Meter Es opening to Florida starting around 2220 UTC. Worked K4HV EL97, KC4PX EL98,and K2DEL EL99 with my stealth attic dipole! KC4PX was quite loud. Simple antennas sometimes do well when the band is open. A September contest Es opening is a special treat. -- N0JK
